    The Ins and Outs of College Financial Aid

    Tips every financial Advisor needs to know to advise Parents on how to Start and Succeed at the COllege Financial Aid Process

    This session will focus on tips to maximize the Financial Aid process that you can pass along to your clients.  Step by step strategies will be shared on completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) application, including how assets are reported for maximum aid, the planning, conducting, and assessing of a needs analysis and negotiating better aid packages with colleges.  Details will be explained on how the Federal government calculates the expected family contribution and additional financial tips will be discussed such as conducting free internet scholarship searches, the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE® application, and New York State's financial aid programs including TAP, Excelsior and Enhanced Tuition.

    Joanne Wilson joined Barry Fox College Finance in 2014 as an Administrative Assistant and her career took a new path.  Knowing that Barry was an expert on all things relating to college finance, she learned everything she could under his tutelage.  
    Early in 2019, when Barry decided to retire Wilson took over the reins of this successful consulting business continuing his legacy with previous clients and establishing herself with new ones.   She is a NASFAA (National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators) Certified Loan Specialist.
